FAQ

What is merino wool, and why is it different from regular wool?

Merino wool comes from Merino sheep and is prized for being exceptionally soft, lightweight, and temperature-regulating — warm without the itch of regular wool. It's naturally moisture-wicking and breathable, making it ideal for layering through Chicago winters.

Are all of your knitwear pieces merino wool?

The majority of our knitwear is 100% merino wool. We also carry a small collection in yak wool and alpaca, with cashmere pieces arriving later this year.

Where is your knitwear made?

Every piece is handmade by women artisans working with Dinadi in Kathmandu, Nepal, using traditional techniques passed down through generations.

How do I care for my merino wool knitwear?

Hand wash or machine wash on gentle with cold water, using a laundry bag to protect the fibers. Reshape while damp and lay flat to dry. Do not bleach or tumble dry. If ironing, use low heat only; for dry cleaning, PCE solvent only. Alpaca and yak pieces follow the same gentle care — alpaca is naturally low-pilling, and yak is a bit denser, but both do best with the same cold hand-wash and flat-dry approach. Cashmere, arriving later this year, will need extra care; check the care card included with your piece for specifics.

Can I pick up my order in Chicago instead of shipping?

Yes. Chicago North Side customers can choose local delivery or in-person pickup — contact us to confirm eligibility for your order.
